It was a 14 hour trip but we managed to do it in one day. The kids were real troopers and only watched about half of one movie. They didn't argue too much. At about the half way point Claudia declared that she wanted to go home but we kept moving forward.
When we arrived in Bloomington/Normal we were able to dump our stuff at the apartment but stayed at a nearby hotel. We went to a local pizza buffet for a late dinner and had everyone in bed by 10. Not the best night's sleep but everybody made up for it the next day when they took a 2+ hour nap!
We got to see Lauren and the kids the next morning and then met Chad for lunch. Soon after we went shopping, everyone napped and then it was over to the Lowells' for a cook-out.
What a great start to our summer!
